Hello Friends,
The name Laidley Road comes from the dirt road where my family had a farm once upon a time. I drew massive amounts of energy and inspiration from that place, and I feel it is important to continue to honor it, though it isn't ours any longer. These days home is in Richmond, Virginia with three cool cats and one lovely human.
Always threading through the things I make are the themes of nostalgia, what home means, nature, and the idea that making work can act as a sort of incantation or a meditation. I use various media and processes, often mixing them. My recent work usually includes a mixture of graphite, paper or paper clay, encaustic, and oil paint.

My best to you,
Heather Godlewski
